Title: Random Projection of variables and units.

Abstract: Random projections have recently emerged as a powerful tool to address the computational issues posed by high dimensional or very long data-sets. They can be applied to reduce either the number of columns or the number of rows. Besides facilitating computations they have also shown relevant statistical properties. In this work we highlight the main aspects and applications of random projections and present some new results in the context of supervised and unsupervised classification
